Trying to get a tex file to make a pdf for me in Ubuntu Natty did not work,
sudo apt-get install texlive-fonts-recommended
worked for me.

It didn't worked for me because I'm using CentOS 6.3. I had to install texlive-times... (sudo yum install texlive-times)
Then it worked :)
